From I-40:
Take the Dysartsville Rd. exit, toward Lake James. From the exit head North on Dysartsville Rd. to US-70W. Turn left onto US-70W. Travel 1.7 miles to Bridgewater Rd. and turn right. Travel 1.3 miles to Benfield’s Landing Rd. and turn left. Travel 2.2 miles to NC-126 and turn RIGHT **(a left turn here will take you to the old State Park). Lake James State Park-Paddy’s Creek Section is less than a mile down on the right.
From Morganton, NC via Highway 181:
From 181/N. Green Street, turn onto State Highway 126/ Independence Blvd. Drive .7 miles and turn right onto State Highway 126. Continue on 126 for approximately 16 miles. The Paddy's Creek Section of Lake James State Park will be on your left.
